Our Beliefs

We are Christian

 

As Christians we believe that Jesus is both Lord and Saviour. He died on the cross for our sins, conquered death when three days later He rose, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father as King of kings and Lord of lords. The only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus.
We are Bible-based

 

We are firmly committed to the supreme authority of God’s infallible word – the bible. It is the primary way God has revealed Himself and His plan of salvation to the world. We are committed to the mission God gave His church to proclaim His saving word – The Gospel of Jesus.
We are Reformed

 

We hold to the teachings  of grace that are the key biblical beliefs of the historical church recaptured during the protestant reformation.  We believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, as revealed in the bible.
Coonabarabran Presbyterian is a part of the Presbyterian Church of Australia which is a confessional church. That means our statement of faith is found in one of the Confessions of Faith that grew out of the Reformation in the 16th and 17th Centuries.
